4th/5th graders read “Balloons Over Broadway,” where they learned about how parade floats are engineering feats. Then they applied their science and art skills to create floats! This week, students had a parade to show off their floats to their classmates!
HIgh schoolers have gone to our middle schools to talk about the importance of speaking up when they hear or see something concerning.
The “Say Something” program encourages students to think before they speak and the importance of being an “upstander.”
The Academy hosted veterans for a Thanksgiving lunch! Students planned, prepared and served the meal. It was a special way to give thanks to those who have served our country.
Our Ready-to-Learn students had an exciting visit from cARTie, an art museum on wheels! Traveling across CT, the bus brings hands-on art experiences to kids. Our students explored how art can be used to express emotions, while developing their critical thinking and creativity.
Students are getting ready for their "Balloons Over Broadway" Parade in a couple of weeks!
Our students have spent time learning and honoring our veterans in various ways -- assemblies, writing letters, and hearing directly from a veteran in their classroom! As we reflect on the freedoms veterans have fought to protect, we are reminded that education is one of those.
Our PK-12 World Language team and teachers participated in highly engaging professional learning as we continue to develop and refine engaging language programs that promote linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and global citizenship for our students!
Grades 7-12 string students across MPS came together for a collaborative music experience. A string quartet from the Greater Bridgeport Symphony performed and students broke off into groups to rehearse. We are grateful for community partners who provide learning opportunities!
Our elementary students participated in a costume parade for families to watch on Halloween! It was a spooktacular time! 🎃
