Save the Date: Parent Teacher Conference Sign Up Portal to Open Monday, March 4th

We are pleased to announce our Spring 2024 Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place next month and we are providing some advance information to help you plan accordingly.

On Monday, March 4th, parents/guardians will be able to select a conference time through the My Conference Time sign-up portal (it will go live on your school’s website homepage on Monday, 3/4 @ 9:00 a.m.). Take a look at the various conference time frames above and consider which one is best for you.  Then, on Monday, March 4th, enter the My Conference Time portal and reserve your time slot with your child’s teacher.  If you encounter any problems, please contact the school secretary.

Lastly, please be aware that dismissal on conference days takes place 10 minutes earlier than the normal early dismissal time. Don’t worry – we’ll remind you as we get closer.  

 


Monday, 2/26: Board of Education Meeting, Parsons, 7:00 p.m.

The next Board of Ed meeting will be held on Monday, 2/26 in the Parsons Complex.  Start time is 7:00 p.m.  The second meeting of the month is called the Committee of the Whole Meeting and typically takes a comprehensive look at one or more specific topics.  This month, the Board will learn more about Safety & Security and the Increasing Educator Diversity Plan, as it relates to staffing.  All are welcome to join us and learn more about these interesting subjects.  AGENDA  PACKET

 


Wednesday, 2/28: Board of Finance Education Budget Review, Parsons, Conf. Rm. B, 5:30 p.m.

The Board of Finance continues its work next week as they review the various city and education budget proposals for 2024-25.  The Board of Education Proposed Budget Review will take place IN-PERSON, on Wednesday, here in the Parsons Building, (Conf. Room B at 5:30 p.m.).  District leadership will present the rationale behind the budget development and will be available to answer questions from the BOF.  This meeting is open to the public. Milford Prevention Council Community Survey: All Are Welcome to Provide Input

The Milford Prevention Council is hoping to gain as much insight as possible from the community at large about substance abuse, underage drinking, vaping, and mental health concerns affecting youth in the Milford community.  The MPC has prepared an online survey and asks you to spend a few minutes providing your thoughts on these important topics.  Your input will help shape the future for our young people – thanks in advance! Friday, March 1 & Saturday, March 2:  Foran High’s Mane Street Players Present ‘Once Upon a Mattress’, @ Foran High, various show times

Get your tickets now!  The Mane Street Players of Foran High are poised to present Once Upon a Mattress and it is sure to be fantastic. There are three opportunities for you to see this show: Opening night is Friday (3/1) @ 7:00 p.m., Matinee on Saturday (3/2) @ 2:30 p.m., and Closing Night Show (also 3/2) @ 7:00 p.m.  Here’s the FLYER for more!

 


Milford Flotilla Offering Great Boating Courses – Act Fast and Register Today

Living on the shoreline, we all can appreciate the huge benefit we have right in front of us:  Long Island Sound!  And, it’s VITAL for boat owners to understand the important responsibility they have to keeping all of us safe while having fun.  Learn the rules connected to proper boat safety through a wide variety of courses taught by our experts at the Milford Flotilla.  There are some courses that start as early as March 2, so why not get ready for the summer season now?  Check out their flyers for more.  TRI-FOLD   FLYER.

 


NOW OPEN: Milford Audubon Summer Camp Opportunities

The Milford Audubon Summer Camp has a robust selection of opportunities for kids from Grades K-5.  Check out the linked flyer to learn more about prices, sessions, and more.  The camps are held at The Coastal Center, located at the end of Milford Point Road.  Given our location right on Long Island Sound, this gives kids a wonderful chance to learn about our thriving natural resource.  FLYER.
