Hello, MPS Family!

Good morning, friends.  It was wonderful this week to see the partnerships bloom as parents and teachers joined together during Parent-Teacher Conference time.  Thank you to all of you and the relationships that have been forged – all for the benefit of our kids.  And remember, these connections are intended to last all year long – not just at conference time.  Whenever you feel the need, you are welcome to reach out to each other at any time. Keep up the great work.

Next week the event schedule begins to heat up – both at our individual schools and across the city.  Here are some good things to know about.  Have a great week.

The next meeting of the Board of Education (Committee of the Whole) will focus on one subject - the Milford Public Schools Facility Utilization Study.  In late spring, the Board commissioned an independent study of the buildings we have, the spaces within them, what those spaces are used for, and the relationships between enrollment, population, housing, and our schools. Dr. Anna Cutaia, Mr. Sean Brennan, and representatives of the SLAM Collaborative will present the data collected so far.  All are welcome to attend this important meeting as we learn more about this topic.  Please Note: this meeting will be held at Jonathan Law High School (Auditorium). We look forward to seeing you there.  AGENDA

The scouting community here in Milford is proud to announce they are deep into their planning for the 19th Annual ‘Thanks for Giving’ Food Drive – and as their community partners, the Milford Public Schools will be helping the cause.  Beginning October 30th, we are asked to bring in shelf-stable donations for use in this annual drive.  The FLYER provides all kinds of suggestions for donations – and please know your contribution is part of an effort that provides more than 300 Thanksgiving baskets to families throughout Milford needing support.  Let’s all do our part to help everyone in our community and ‘thanks for giving!’ FLYER.
