2:30 p.m.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff Members,

Due to the deteriorating outside air quality and in partnership with the Milford Health Department, we have made the decision to curtail all outside activities immediately.  School administrators have been asked to bring all students indoors for the remainder of the day and no after-school outside activities will be held.  All windows and doors have been closed in our buildings throughout the district.

Specific to our Middle Schools: Although we made every effort to work with the B&B Bus Company to potentially bring our students back early from their trip to Holiday Hill, it was logistically impossible.  On a positive note, however, administrators have reported that the conditions in Prospect are better than those currently here in Milford.

Specific to High School Athletics/Events: Athletic practices that are able will be moved indoors today. Activities that cannot be brought inside will be canceled.

As a precaution tonight, we suggest  you continue to avoid all outdoor activities and to close all windows and doors at your homes until the air quality situation improves.  For additional information regarding this matter, please refer to the EPA/Partners website.

Sincerely,

Anna Cutaia, Ed. D.

Superintendent
