NEWS & EVENTS

 Monday, March 27: Board of Ed Meeting, Parsons, 7:00 p.m.

The Board of Education will hold its Committee of the Whole Meeting on Monday, with the main topic focusing on the impact of potential budget reductions.  Members of the public are welcome to attend to learn more about this very important topic.  AGENDA.


City & MPS Team Up for Public Info Session on ‘ESPORTS – Jobs of the Future,' April 5th via Zoom (Student sessions will take place in the morning; Parent sessions are at 6:00 p.m.)

On Wednesday, April 5th, Dr. Cutaia will moderate a conversation with Mark Kilpatrick as they discuss the potential of Esports careers.  Student sessions have been scheduled in the morning and parents will have a chance to learn all about it later at 6:00 p.m.  Parents and children, alike, will have the chance to discover how esports can open up exciting new possibilities for their futures.  The event will also include time for a Q&A session for attendees.  We will remind you as we get closer but wanted you to put it on your calendars now!  Thanks to Julie Nash, Director of Milford’s Economic and Community Development team, for bringing this event to us.  Dr. Cutaia and Ms. Nash will be working together over the next several months to bring more future-focused opportunities to our community! CALL TO ACTION: Toasty Toes Sock Drive Only 1 More Week!!

As you know, a local organization (PEP program) has been working on a project that is soon to end (next week!!). If you have a chance to purchase a pair (or more!) of new socks and donate them to the Toasty Toes Sock Drive – we would be ecstatic!  Collection boxes are in place at every one of our schools – so just send them in with the kids! Socks are one of the most needed items at the Beth-El Center and this is your chance to help out.  Here’s a FLYER that explains more.  Thanks in advance for your help!


Foran Child Learning Center Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2023

We are pleased to announce the Foran Child Learning Center is now accepting applications for Fall 2023.  This high quality, developmentally appropriate program is designed for children ages 3 and 4. The Center also serves as a lab classroom for Foran High School students enrolled in Child Development courses at the school. March 2023: Unified Sports Unified Prom – Cappugino’s, March 20-31, 20 Commerce Park

If you’re in the market for a quick coffee or bite to eat, make a pit stop at CappuGino’s on Commerce Park.  Our Unified Sports Program will receive a portion of the business’ profits to benefit our annual Unified Prom!  Thanks for your support!

The Annual Dash for Danni Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th and will take place at Foran High School.  This 3.1 mile walk/run commemorates the life of Danni Kemp, a former scholar-athlete from Foran, who passed away from a rare form of brain cancer.  Mark your calendars now for APRIL 29th, and participate in one or both of the fundraisers leading up to the event (links above).  Let’s all be Danni Strong!

Only 10 More Days to Submit Mayor’s Youth Award Nominations (Due April 4th)

There are only 10 days left to nominate individuals or groups for the 35th Annual Mayor’s Youth Awards. Any Milford resident, age 18 or under, who has participated in activities to improve the quality of life in this city, or assist its citizens, is eligible to be nominated.  Individual awards are given at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. In addition, there is a category to recognize group community service. The deadline to submit a nomination is April 4th.


Milford Education Foundation: Tickets on Sale for Yankees Game on Sunday, April 23rd; Deadline to Order is 4/15 The Milford Education Foundation is pleased to unveil the details of their upcoming fundraiser – the Annual NY Yankee Game!  Tix are $78 per ticket, and includes your seat (Section 306), a Yankees backpack, hot dog, and soda/water.
