Milford Kindergarten Registration Portal to Open February 21st

Schools to Welcome ‘Class of 2036’

MILFORD – The Milford Public School district is delighted to welcome its newest students! The Kindergarten Registration Online Portal will open on February 21, 2023 for children entering the Milford Public Schools in the fall of 2023.  Children who are at least 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2023 and are Milford residents are welcome to enroll in kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year. The registration process begins with the parent/guardian supplying information on the district’s online registration portal at www.milforded.org.  Once the registration is complete, families will have an opportunity to visit the school in-person.  Invitations will be forthcoming.

Current Milford Public Schools Preschool or Milford Ready to Learn students will not need to complete an online kindergarten registration packet.  Specific information will be provided directly to our Preschool and Ready to Learn families.

“We look forward to meeting our newest members of the Milford Public Schools family,” commented Dr. Amy Fedigan, Assistant Superintendent for the district.  “Although the start of the next school year may seem very far away – we encourage all families with incoming kindergarten students to begin the registration process as soon as the portal opens on the 21st.  Registering early will help us plan for a smooth transition to school for your child,” she commented.

When the registration portal opens, parents are asked to read the instructions first before they begin as there are several documents that will be needed for upload to complete their child’s registration (see below). It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete the online registration materials.

Documentation You Will Need to Register Your Child

The following items will be needed for upload to the Registration Portal.  If families do not have all of the documents available at that time, the district recommends that the parent/guardian still begins the registration process, as there will be an opportunity to present the documents at a later date.

  • A certified copy of your child's birth certificate

  • For Homeowners: mortgage/deed or tax bill for the residence

  • For Renters: lease or rental agreement signed by the landlord, including the landlord's contact phone number

  • (2) Recent Utility bills in the same name to the same address (landline phone, water, electric, gas, oil or cable tv)

  • A copy of the student’s latest physical exam (must have occurred within the past 12 months) and immunization record
