Parent University

Welcome to the Milford Public Schools online Parent University. In Milford, we believe that a strong family and school connection is vital to our students’ success. The goal of Parenty University is to provide you with current and relevant information regarding a variety of topics in relation to student development and wellness including social and emotional wellbeing, physical health, internet safety, college and career planning, as well as helpful strategies and tips for parents at home. We offer a handful of parent/guardian events throughout the year that are geared towards all of our families PK-12.

Upcoming Events

Tuesday, June 6th: Summer Reading & Programming, What's Available?

Held @ the Milford Public Library, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.  FREE!

With summer almost here, you might be wondering how to navigate the summer reading list, summer ‘boredom,’ and personal health and wellness.  Great news! This Parent University Event will help you with all these things – plus more.  This free event will take place at Milford Public Library – and you are welcome to join us – but please CLICK HERE and then on the link to RSVP so our friends know how many people to plan for.  Learn all about the Governor’s Reading Challenge, Summer reading resources (especially at the Library!), Activities (there are dozens!), and much more.  In addition, there will be games and a raffle.  Fun! Hope to see you there.  FREE!

Monday, June 12th: Internet Safety for the Summer

Held @ West Shore Middle School; Dinner @ 5:30 p.m., Presentation @ 6:00 p.m.

NOTE: This is a Middle School Parent/Guardians Event; Adults Only

We are pleased to let you know about a terrific presentation that will be held on Monday evening, June 12th – and all Middle School Parents & Guardians are invited!  With the summer months almost here, kids will have a lot more time on their hands and likely will spend a lot of it on social media. That’s why we’ve partnered with internet safety expert Scott Driscoll who will share some great tips and advice with us to help make sure your child stays safe while online. Some of the subjects we’ll discuss include popular apps, programs, trends, cyberbullying, sexting, social networking and your ‘digital tattoo.’  The presentation is FREE and so is DINNER!  All you need to do is pre-register (by June 7th) so we can prepare properly. We hope to see you there!  FLYER.
