Hello Bulldog Families,

We had a busy week at school this week. Lots going on and coming up academically and for fun!

Take a look at all that is coming up ahead from the district and our school:

  • Our state assessment, SBA, is approaching fast.  Students will take the Math and ELA part of the tests during the weeks of May 1st and May  12th.  The science test will be administered during the week of May 22nd. Students will not be testing every day and there are make-up days for those students that may need them due to missed days or more time. 

Reminder:

  • Please make sure students have charged their chromebooks every night.  This is very important as there are no extra chromebooks for students to use.

  • Students will need headphones.  If you have a pair at home that your student is comfortable using, please send them in each day or they can keep them at school.

  • Make sure your student gets a good night's sleep and eats breakfast each morning so they are ready to do their best.

  • Congratulations to our Bus Safety Patrols, our Walker Patrols, and our Broadcast Crew for earning recognition for the Mayor’s Youth Awards this year!

  • Mathewson Library Night is May 2nd! Check out more information here

  • Mathewson Spring Portrait Proofs will be available soon!  Once they arrive your child will bring home a proof card with ordering instructions. The order deadline for free shipping to Mathewson is May 12th! After this you can still order pictures until June 2023 for a $7.50 shipping fee to your home.

  • Help us with the Great Boat Race! Plastic water bottles needed. Read here! We have a bin to collect the bottles by the Be Kind mural that students can just place their contributions in.

  • This week's Community Connection Center's Newsletter (CCC News)   contains information for Milford Beach Stickers, Avery's Walk to fight Brain Cancer and Golf fundraiser for Purple Pantry Boxes. Don't miss an invitation to the newly renovated Planetarium at Joseph Foran High School for  "An Evening under the Stars".  Remember that  the CCC website is updated with links to community resources. Other News to Bark About!!

For our incoming Kindergarten families who are fully registered or currently in a MPS preschool program, an email was sent out with an invite to our Kickoff to Kindergarten school visits in May.  If your child is eligible for Kindergarten but you have not yet registered, please click the link  to register and be included in this Kickoff to Kindergarten experience. 

District Wide Kindergarten Registration is Now Available!

Greetings, MPS Families!

We are pleased to announce that Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024  school year will take place during February and March. If you have a child who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall, registration information will be posted to the district website www.milforded.org on February 21, 2023.  You must register your child for Kindergarten at the school determined by your street address, unless placed by Pupil Personnel Services.  School/Street Assignments are available on the district website under “District Information.”

Students must be at least age five (5) on or before December 31, 2023, in order to register for Kindergarten.  

Current MPS preschool or Ready To Learn students do not need to complete an online registration packet.

If you need assistance with the registration portal,  please contact the main office for your district assigned school. School contact information can be found on the district website under “ Schools.” 

We are excited for your children to come to our schools!  Fully registered families, please be on the lookout for more information from your school’s Principal about an in person kindergarten event in the spring.  In the meantime, click here for a sneak peek of what to expect in Kindergarten!

  • Attendance: All absences must be reported using the PowerSchool attendance form. If your child is going to be late or picked up early, please send a note in to the teacher, or email the teacher, our greeter mkothari@milforded.org and our secretary mgonski@milforded.org . Only absences should be reported through PowerSchool.
