Milford Family Resource Center
The Milford Family Resource Center has been in operation since 1994, thanks to a collaborative effort of community leaders dedicated to the healthy development of young children and families. It is primarily funded by a grant from the State Dept. of Education to the Milford Public Schools.
We are currently located at Pumpkin Delight Elementary School
Program Offerings
Parents as Teachers
A comprehensive parent education program for families with children ages birth to age five. Through home visits, playgroups, parent education groups, developmental screening and a resource and referral service, the FRC offers parents the opportunity to learn effective parenting skills and build a support network.
Personal Visits
PAT certified educators, trained in Child Development and home visiting, meet with each family privately in their home or in our center. The parent educators help parents understand each stage of their child's development, offer practical tips on ways to encourage learning and promote strong parent-child relationships.
Playgroups
Weekly playgroups are designed to be fun and educational with a focus on intentional play for both parents and children. Age-appropriate activities, effective parenting strategies, and the enhancement of healthy child development. The playgroups are for MIlford families with children ages infant to preschool.
Parent Seminars
We host discussion groups for parents where they can gain new insights and share experiences, concerns and successes and develop collaborative relationships with one another.
Resource and Referral
The FRC provides families with resource and referral services to support systems throughout the community.
