2. Take this opportunity to shadow someone who has a job that interests you.  Experience what it’s like to be working.  If this is something you would like to do but need help, see  Mrs. C.

3. Do some research!  It’s completely understandable if you are still unsure of your exact post secondary path.  Use this time to research a college or career pathway that you would like to learn more about.  Things to consider in researching:

College/Technical School:

  • Location: What is the distance from home - Do you want to dorm or commute?
  • Admission requirements: What do you need to get into the school?  When is the application deadline?

  • Program of studies offered: Which one are you interested in learning more about?

  • Cost: How much does it cost to attend?  Have you thought about applying for financial aid?

  • Length of study: How long will it take you to earn your degree or certification?

Career Research:

  • What job are you interested in?  What exactly does someone who works in this job do?

  • What do you need to become a part of this workforce?  Do you need a degree or certification?

  • What is the job outlook for this job in the future?

  • How much money can you make annually?

  • Do you know someone who works in this field already?  Talk to them and ask them some of these questions.  Sometimes, first hand real world information is the best!

**Take this day and use it as a gift of time and take advantage of the opportunity to explore your post-secondary options.  We are here to help you along the way!**
