Dear West Shore Families,
December is officially here, bringing chilly weather, the excitement of the season, and plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead! Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students focused, engaged, and supported during this busy time of year. We are just a little over two weeks away from a much-deserved Winter Break, and we’re excited to finish the month strong together.
Welcome to Our New Science Teacher! We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Allyson Debe, our new 7th and 8th grade Science teacher. Ms. Debe comes to us from Shelton, and we are excited to have her join the West Shore community. Please help us give her a warm Wildcat welcome!
Holiday Concert – December 10th Our annual Holiday Concert is right around the corner! Join us to celebrate our talented musicians on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 PM at Jonathan Law High School. Performances will include our chorus, band, and orchestra students. We hope to see many families there cheering on our Wildcats!
Chromebook Charger Information Our Library Media Specialist would like families to know that Chromebook chargers are available for purchase for $10 if a replacement is needed. Please note that district insurance covers accidental damage only. We hope this information is helpful as we continue encouraging responsible technology care.
Student Council Winter Spirit Days Get ready to show your West Shore pride! Our Student Council has created a festive lineup of Spirit Days as we count down to Winter Break. Participation is encouraged and always optional.
• Monday 12/15 – Merry Makeover Monday (dress as a holiday character)
• Tuesday 12/16 – Teamwear Tuesday (sportswear)
• Wednesday 12/17 – Wacky Wednesday (mismatched clothes, hats, hair)
• Thursday 12/18 – Twinning Thursday
• Friday 12/19 – Let It Snow Day (wear white)
• Monday 12/22 – Jolly Jammy Monday (holiday pajamas)
• Tuesday 12/23 – Tacky & Toasty Tuesday (ugly sweater day)
2026 West Shore Pet Calendar Our 2026 WSMS Pet Calendar is in the works, and we’re inviting students to participate! Students may submit a photo of their pet for the calendar.
• Photo submission fee: $5
• Calendar cost: $10
• Email photos to: jplourde@milforded.org and drichardson@milforded.org
• Include: your child’s name and their pet’s name
• Payments: cash or checks (payable to West Shore Middle School) submitted to the Main Office
• Deadline for photos & payment: December 12
• Pickup date: December 23
