The temperature has dipped, the wind is showing off, and Thanksgiving is already in view. With only two and a half days of school next week, we’re gearing up for a short but meaningful stretch before the holiday break. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students focused and energized during this busy season.

$40 if purchased before January 1st • $45 after January 1st
Families may notice emails from the “Legacy” Yearbook company—these are part of the district’s ordering system. Thank you for helping us make this keepsake special for all Wildcats!

✏️ NoRedInk Coming to Classrooms
A new digital learning platform, NoRedInk, is coming to ELA and Social Studies classes. This tool supports students’ grammar and writing development through personalized practice and guided writing experiences. Our staff is excited to bring this enhanced learning opportunity to your children!
🛠️ WAVE Partners with Power Home Remodeling
Our WAVE After School Program is welcoming volunteers from Power Home Remodeling (located in Trumbull) to build and decorate birdhouses with students. This hands-on activity gives students a chance to explore how skills learned in school connect to real-world careers—what an exciting opportunity!
📅 West Shore Pet Calendar!
Our 2026 WSMS Pet Calendar is officially underway, and we’re inviting students to submit photos of their favorite furry, feathery, or scaly friends!
$5 per photo submission
$10 per calendar
Photos & payments due: December 12
Calendars ready for pick-up: December 23
Pet photos (with student + pet names) can be emailed to jplourde@milforded.org and drichardson@milforded.org. Payments (cash or check made out to West Shore Middle School) should be dropped off in the Main Office.
We can't wait to see the pets that brighten our West Shore community!
👕 Class of 2026 T-Shirt Fundraiser
The 8th grade committee is excited to announce that Class of 2026 t-shirts will be on sale until 11/26. Proceeds go towards funding the 8th grade dinner dance! Shirts are $20 each.
For every 20 shirts sold, our incredible PTA will be raffling off a gift card for a free McDonalds combo meal, beginning today, 11/21! Good luck!
🍟 Thank You for a Wonderful McTeacher’s Night
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our McTeacher’s Night this week! Families filled the restaurant with Wildcat spirit, and our teachers had a blast serving behind the counter. All proceeds go toward supporting the WSMS Class of 2026. We’re grateful for your enthusiasm and for our amazing PTA for organizing such a memorable evening!
🎶 Celebrating Music at West Shore
This week, music educators from Stratford visited West Shore to observe one of our General Music classes. A special shout-out to Mr. Chris Kalafus for showcasing the engaging and creative learning that happens in his classroom every day. We love seeing our programs inspire others!

WSMS PTA Updates:
The Milford Turkey Trot has the potential to be a huge fundraiser for our school. The money we receive is dependent on how many volunteer hours our school community puts in. If you have a few hours to give, handing out race packets or working at the race (starting this weekend), PLEASE sign up! If you can't work a whole shift, sign up and let them know what hours you can be there.
