Dear West Shore Families,
It’s been a busy and exciting week at West Shore! Our after-school activities are in full swing, and our WAVE Program wrapped up its first successful week. Students continue to show creativity and leadership across the building — from new PBIS posters designed by Student Council to the incredible student artwork displayed in our Media Center Art Show.
High School Fair – Grade 8
Our annual High School Fair for eighth graders will take place on Monday, October 28, from 8:30–10:15 a.m. This is an important opportunity for students to learn more about the programs and pathways available to them as they begin to think about their next steps.
Guest Speaker Spotlight
This week, our eighth-grade Student Development class welcomed guest speaker William Silver, an architect who shared insights into the field of architecture and the many career opportunities it offers. We’re grateful to our school counselors for organizing these engaging sessions that help students explore future possibilities.
Marking Period Reminder
The first marking period ends on October 31. Now is a great time to check in on your child’s progress in PowerSchool and reach out to teachers with any questions.
A quick reminder: students are not permitted to wear costumes on Halloween, but they are welcome to show their school spirit with festive fall attire.

WSMS PTA Updates:
10/27 & 10/29 - Boo Grams will be on sale during lunch waves. Each Boo Gram is $5. Students can send them to friends, and they will be delivered in homeroom on October 31st.
11/12 PTA meeting at 6:30 in the media center, followed by the 8th-grade committee meeting at approximately 7:00.
11/16 Spirit Wear Orders are due. Place orders here.
11/18 WSMS Night at Devon McDonald’s.Teachers will be working behind the counter!
11/20 Pie and cookie dough pick-up 4:00-6:00
