West Shore Weekly Update

Dear West Shore Families,

We hope this edition finds you well and enjoying the latest news from our vibrant school community!

Eighth-Grade Dinner Dance at TYDE by the Beach:

This past Tuesday night, our eighth-grade students had the time of their lives at the annual Dinner Dance, held at the stunning TYDE by the Beach. The evening was filled with laughter, joy, and celebration as students dined together, danced the night away, and took beautiful photos on the balcony overlooking the Long Island Sound. With music, lights, and a picturesque setting, the night was nothing short of magical—a perfect way to celebrate their final days at West Shore.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the PTA Eighth Grade Committee, whose incredible effort and planning made this unforgettable evening possible. Thanks to their generosity and hard work, this event was completely free for students, and every detail—from the venue to the food and decorations—was thoughtfully curated. We are so grateful for their dedication to making our students feel special and celebrated.

Eighth-Grade Adventure at Holiday Hill:

On Wednesday, the celebration continued as our eighth graders enjoyed a fun-filled day at Holiday Hill. From canoeing and swimming to basketball and even a bit of fishing, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The students embraced the outdoors and participated in a wide variety of engaging activities. One of the biggest hits of the day was the unlimited food options, which kept everyone energized and smiling. It was heartwarming to see our students laughing, connecting, and making lasting memories together.

The Little Mermaid Jr. - A Spectacular Performance:

Our incredibly talented West Shore Drama Club amazed the audience last night with their production of The Little Mermaid Jr. The students lit up the stage with their energy, passion, and hard work, bringing the beloved story to life in a truly magical way. If you missed the show, there’s still time to catch the second performance tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the West Shore gym. Snacks and raffle tickets will be available for purchase, and tickets will be sold at the door (while supplies last)—$10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. Don’t miss out!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. It’s an exciting and emotional time of year, and we’re so proud of all our Wildcats!

Warm regards,
Carrie Keramis
Principal, West Shore Middle School
