What a fantastic week at Pumpkin Delight! We were beyond thrilled to share the progress that our students are making this year during Family Teacher conferences. Thank you for making our conferences so successful.

PDS’ Literacy Google Classroom: PDS Families, we are building a one stop google classroom for literacy! Each month we will add new tips/strategies/ideas to try out at home. Please be on the lookout for an email invitation that includes the classroom link and code to join. Mrs. Pitoniak and Mrs. DelMonte- Instructional Coaches.
Veterans Day Project: Our families have an opportunity to participate in this wonderful event. Submissions are due Monday, November 1. Please click THIS LINK for more details.

Library Media Center Update: We are excited that our school libraries are fully open to students and staff this year. Book circulation has been very successful and our students are learning how to self checkout! There is no limit on the number of books students may take out, though popular series or titles are based on availability and demand.
Costume Parade: On Friday, October 29th students will be able to wear their costumes and participate in a brief parade outside with their grade level. Families will be invited to attend in a designated viewing area. More information including specific COVID safety protocols for visitors and students can be found with THIS LINK.
Goodie bags: At this time we are continuing to ask our families to not send in goodie bags or other items from one family to the rest of your class. While in-person visitors are not currently allowed, an alternative option families can participate as a virtual “mystery reader” to read a book to their child’s class as a way of celebrating special occasions. This should be worked out in advance with the classroom teacher and the teacher can set up a google meet with the family.
