Hello Bulldog Families,
We hope you had a PAWmazing week. We are definitely enjoying the weather this week for sure and next week’s forecast doesn’t look bad either. Thanks to all the parents that attended our PTA meeting this past week. It was a jam packed meeting with lots of information! We will recap some of it in the information below. Get ready for lots of fun things to come!
We are excited to share that next year we are slated to have a NEW PLAYGROUND!!! Thanks to Mayor Blake’s budget we have been selected and were approved to gain a new playground - hopefully installed by the 23-24 school year. Get excited!!!
1-2-3-4 We declare a Penny War! Help raise funds for our 5th graders and a local charity. Information here and this will start February 21st!

This week's Community Connection Center's Newsletter (CCC News) has links for 211 Tax assistance, Learning about Budgeting for young & old & CT FoodShare on February 14th. Each week information about Milford's providers & their programs are listed . You will also find ideas for family friendly activities & places to visit. Get Excited PTA is Sponsoring the Giggling Pig Art Enrichment Program. Beginning Mondays, March 6-April 3 from 3:30-4:30p at Mathewson. The cost will be $110, register online HERE. Space is limited. Thanks PTA for collaborating with this Milford business for our students.
Valentine's Day Reminder: Valentine’s Day is ahead! This is a fun filled day at the elementary level for sure. Your child’s classroom teacher will send out more information as it pertains to their class but we wanted to take this time to remind you we do not hand out goodie bags or food items of any kind. While these kind gestures are appreciated we ask that you please do not send in items for staff to hand out to other children. If you wish to help in some way you are always welcome to reach out to your child’s teacher to see what might be best.
PTA Family Skate Night is Coming! Family Skate Night is Friday, February 24th from 6:15-7:45 PM at Milford Ice Arena. The cost is $5 per person (skate rental included). Register on MemberHub HERE.
Attendance: All absences must be reported using the PowerSchool attendance form. If your child is going to be late or picked up early, please send a note in to the teacher, or email the teacher, our greeter mkothari@milforded.org and our secretary mgonski@milforded.org . Only absences should be reported through PowerSchool.
Read Across Mathewson Day is Coming! Every year, the month of March is National Reading Month. The start of this is initiated with ‘Read Across America Day’ on March 2. Many schools choose to engage in activities throughout the week which promote books as windows offering views of the world or mirrors where we allow children to see themselves within their text. Throughout the school year, Milford Public Schools work to help students develop a love of reading and an appreciation for where the pages of a book can take you. We look forward to having guest readers help us celebrate on March 2nd at Mathewson!
