Hello Bulldog Families,
Welcome back and happy new year! We have been enjoying reconnecting together this week and are right back into all of our studies! Thanks to all for your participation with our Holiday Spirit Week. We are happy to announce that Randall-Alfonso and DaCosta Family were our winning families for participating in the holiday spirit fun! They will receive Dunkin gift cards for joining in the fun! We have a lot going on this month. Be sure to check out the information below as there is lots going on academically and with our PTA! Happy start to 2023!

Students in K-5 are invited to participate in the 2023 MLK Murphy Essay Contest. Information is here
Senator Murphy invites your students to participate in his Office’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest. We ask students from elementary, middle, and high schools from across Connecticut to participate in honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by submitting essays that reflect on Dr. King’s dream, their own aspirations, and the importance of what Dr. King means to them.
Submissions are now open and must be received by Saturday, January 7th at 11:59pm. Essays can be submitted online or mailed to our Hartford Office.
January 10th is Mathewson Night at Silver Sands Pizza! Mention “Mathewson” at check out for dine in or take out and our 5th Grade Fundraising Committee will earn some funds!
January 27th our PTA is sponsoring BINGO NIGHT! Be sure to check out the information here. This is a family event from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Running out of ideas to make for dinner? Then think no further! For the Month of January Nate’s Plates has coordinated with our PTA to help provide some dinner choices and funds for our 5th grade committee for those that wish to participate. Be sure to mention “Mathewson” at check out and enjoy a night of not having to plan for what to make!
Dave and Busters Grade 5 Fundraiser--Jan 12-Feb. 10th! Have some fun and raise some funds for our 5th Graders! Check out the details here. Purchasing goes live on January 12th at 12 pm on the Mathewson Member Hub Store.
