Welcome to Mathewson Elementary School. Our Mathewson community embraces both high quality instruction and strong relationships. We are proud to be recognized as a Kind Campus through the Ben's Bells Program, focusing on intentional kindness while taking care of ourselves, others and our school. Our learning community strives to build PAWsitive, caring relationships among faculty, students and families.While at Mathewson you will learn all about our P.A.W. Program, which is designed to help teach and reinforce positive character traits among our students. This program helps to celebrate who we are as individuals, while celebrating school wide community successes both big and small. We are proud to support our learners’ social-emotional and academic needs. We believe that the strong relationships between students and staff help is what makes our learning community flourish.
During their time at Mathewson staff collaborates and plans together to help all students excel and best meet the needs of each learner. Through the use of feedback and co-created lessons students are engaged in learning tasks that puts them in the driver seats of their learning, helping them to become self-reliant learners who can problem solve and utilize a variety of resources to extend learning to the fullest extent. We know that each learner brings different strategies and skills to our learning tables and we embrace our ideas that add to a collective learning environment.
While at Mathewson you will find that PTA helps to support our academic and social opportunities through programming year round. School and family collaboration is welcomed at our school. We hope you will join our meetings and hlpe plan some pawtastic events and engagements for our students this year.
