Harborside will be hosting a Scholastic BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE Book Fair to kick off summer reading 

The book fair will be open from Monday, June 1st to Friday, June 5th during school hours.  

Parents can set up an eWallet for their child to shop at the book fair.

HMS Smarter Balance Assessment Information

HMS students STARTED taking the SBA Math test yesterday and today. 

The SBA Math Test for ALL students will continue through Tuesday, May 20.

Students are to be at school in their homerooms at 8:00 AM (Just like normal).

Students not arriving prior to the start of their testing period will not be permitted into the testing site and will go to the Media Center Lab until the testing is completed. 

Students late to school/testing or absent on a testing day will be scheduled for a make-up test and be pulled from class to take the assessment. 

Students are to come to school everyday with charged chromebooks, headphones or earbuds, and their chromebook charger as the assessment is taken using the chromebook.

Please make sure your child is well rested, has eaten breakfast, and arrives at school on time.

Families are encouraged to make appointments accordingly so that their child is present during their testing day/period. Please reference the above calendar for specific testing days and periods. 

HMS Parents/Guardians are encouraged to complete this year’s Family School Climate Survey.

Families have through Sunday night to complete the survey.

Conducting emergency drills (fire, crisis, lockdown, etc.) is one of the most important ways we enhance our preparedness for students and staff during an emergency. 

Drills allow us to practice what we need to do when an emergency arises in our school. 

HMS will be conducting a fire drill later next week. This will only be a drill and will be conducted in accordance with the School Incident Management Protocols established by the district, and in collaboration with our local first responders.  

Please discuss the importance of our emergency drills with your children.

Friday, June 12 - Grade 8 Moving Up Ceremony

Monday, June 15 - Wednesday June 17 - Early dismissal. Students will be dismissed at 12:45 PM.

Wednesday, June 17 - Last day of school.
