HMS Smarter Balance Assessment Information

HMS students will begin taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) on Wednesday, April 15.

HMS students will be testing with their ELA, Math, and Science teachers during their assigned class period.

Testing will occur during the first three periods of the day from 8:12 AM - 11:22 AM.

Class periods have been moved around for testing.

Students and teachers will receive a daily period scheduled each morning via email.

Teachers will also post and/or write out the daily schedule on their boards.

Click Testing Schedule Calendar to view/print SBA testing days, content, and periods.

Due to testing by class period and content teacher, the SBA testing period will go through May 15.

Students are to be at school in their homerooms at 8:00 AM (Just like normal).

Students not arriving prior to the start of their testing period will not be permitted into the testing site and will go to the Media Center Lab or other designated area until the testing period is completed.

Students late to school/testing or absent on a testing day will be scheduled for a make-up test and be pulled from class to take the assessment.

Students are to come to school everyday with charged chromebooks, headphones or earbuds, and their chromebook charger as the assessment is taken using the chromebook.

Please make sure your child is well rested, has eaten breakfast, and arrives at school on time.

Families are encouraged to make appointments accordingly so that their child is present during their testing day/period. Please reference the above calendar for specific testing days and periods.
