HMS News

GOOD AFTERNOON HMS FAMILIES:

Today we are presented with varying social media holidays:  You might consider making a donation to an endangered species organization as you bike to work (pretending you are driving in NASCAR), then throw a pizza party!  (You can’t make this up!)

This weekend also marks:

  • May 17: National Graduation Tassel Day

  • May 17: World Baking Day (What a great way to incorporate some science, math, and reading skills into a fun family project!)

  • May 17: National Armed Forces Day

  • May 18: Visit Your Relatives Day

Please take a moment to review a few important updates and reminders.

Avery’s Little Garden Brick Campaign -

  • Avery, a former Calf Pen and HMS student, fought brain cancer with bravery and strength for over two and a half years. Through this fight she never complained and continued to find ways to make those around her smile and participate in life. She taught teachers and students alike, how to be resilient and keep going no matter the challenge.

  • To continue to honor Avery’s legacy, Calf Pen Meadow School is looking to build a memorial garden and outdoor classroom.

  • Families wishing to support Calf Pen’s garden/outdoor classroom can purchase a Garden Brick. Please click Avery’s Little Garden Brick Campaign for more information.
