GOOD AFTERNOON HMS FAMILIES:

Sunday is Mother’s Day.  We’re not just talking about moms and grandmoms; sisters and in-laws, stepmoms, aunts, foster moms, and women who’ve served as caretakers, mentors, or other types of “motherly” figures can all be celebrated!  This day recognizes all sorts of extraordinary, caring women in our lives. 

Flowers and spa treatments are great, (Krispy Kreme is also coming out with 3 new flavors for this holiday) but sometimes all that is needed to make someone feel special is a phone call, a visit, or help around the house or yard.  However you choose to appreciate and celebrate, we hope you have a great weekend.

Drop-off/Pick-up Area Part Two - Please see below regarding our side parking lot. 

Drop-off/Pick-up area - 

• Please know that we recently placed a “Student Pick-up/Drop-off Begins Here” sign up at the top loop. 

• Parents/Guardians are asked to pull up as close to the sign as possible before having their child(ren) exit the vehicle. When parents/guardians/family members are not moving up, the street gets backed up and causes traffic at the intersection. 

• As a reminder, the bus loop directly in front of the school is to be used only for buses between 7:40 AM and 8:00 AM. 

  • Students are not to be dropped off using the bus loop prior to 8:00 AM.

  • Temporary exceptions will be made on an emergency basis and cleared through the nurse’s office.

Important Dates:

• Tuesday, April 30 - Friday, May 17 - State testing and make-up window for all grades.

• Wednesday, May 13 - NGSS testing grade 8 only.

• Tuesday, May 14 - Band and Strings concert at Law at 6:30 PM.

• Thursday, May 16 - Incoming grade 6 students visit HMS at 9:30 AM.

• Thursday, May 16 - Lip Sync Battle in HMS gym at 6:00 PM.  Admission is $3.00.

• Wednesday, May 22 - Incoming Grade 6 Virtual Parent Night at 6:30 PM.

• Monday, May 27 - No school in observance of Memorial Day.

• Wednesday, May 29 - Holiday Hill for Grade 8 only. 

• Thursday, May 30 - All District Track Meet at Law.

• Thursday, May 30 - Grade 8 Dinner Dance at Grassy Hill. Students must be in attendance for a full day of school in order to participate.
