Parent-Teacher Conferences
We are pleased to announce our Fall 2021 High School Virtual Conference Schedule:
Wednesday, October 20th 5:30-8:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 21st 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Parents will have access to the site directly from the Foran website
Site will be open October 8th at 9:00 a.m. through October 18th at 12:00 pm.
Schedules are set in 10 minute increments
Parents will be able to cancel and reschedule their own conferences through
Monday, October 18 at 12 pm.
After that time, they will need to contact the teacher to change their conference date/time.
*Please note that we will have a modified early dismissal time on the conference days to accommodate the conference schedule.
Therefore, students will be dismissed on
October 20th and October 21st at 11:48 am.
Please report your student absent from school using the Attendance Absence Form located in PowerSchool. If you would like to have your student's absence excused, written documentation needs to be sent in to the main office within 10 days of the absence. This can be a signed note from a parent regarding the absence (due to extenuating circumstance) or a note confirming the absence by a licensed medical professional. If you need to dismiss your student early, written notification needs to be provided. This can be in the form of a note signed by a parent or guardian or an email to Nicole Cadigan at ncadigan@milforded.org. Thank you!

Summer Community Service Forms
Please email Mrs. Wunder all community service forms by Friday, October 1st. Students may also drop off paper copies in the school counseling office.
College Essay Help
Attention seniors looking for help with their college essay. Please email Mrs. Wunder to set up an appointment for one on one essay help. Ms. Dion will be assisting students in the literacy center.
College Virtual Visits
Attention seniors! College representatives will be hosting virtual visits for Foran students beginning on September 17th. Students can sign up for visits and see a complete list of participating colleges in Naviance under “What's New”. Please email Mrs. Wunder with any questions or for sign-up help.
Foran magnets are available in Room 255-Yellow Hall (Mrs. Farrell lfarrell@milforded.org) or with a journalism student for $6.

Sean Ayoub and Bella Mema - Fresh Faces at Foran High
The AP chemistry class was busy with labs. They looked at when gold is not gold in color. In the flask and test tube is ruby red gold. Gold will appear ruby red when there are only 200 to 600 atoms of golds stuck together. In the picture from left to right are Joe Chichowski, Chip Parker, Kieth Porkornowski, Justin Gentallan.
The Foran High School Athletic Department and The Foran Sports Booster Club have teamed up to honor a deserving varsity athlete each week of the season throughout the 2021-2022 school year. Each recipient will be recognized for their performance in the “Friday News” and they will also receive a tee shirt.
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Sophomore, Ellen Pan has been named Foran High School’s “Athlete of Week” for her outstanding performance in Swimming. Ellen qualified for the States in the 100 Backstroke, 100 Butterfly, 200 IM and the 200 Freestyle. Congratulations Ellen!

Girls Soccer
Tuesday, September 21 vs Sacred Heart Academy
Sacred Heart jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first half. Foran was relentless in their attack, out-shooting the Sharks 12-5. Finally in the 2nd half, Skyler Agresti scored a beautiful header off a Colleen Ardolino cross to tie the game. Hanna Della Bitta-Falkowski finished the game with 4 saves.
Football
On Friday the Foran Lion football team fell to Branford 10-13 in a conference matchup. AJ Edmond scored the lone touchdown for the lions, while Dylan Haig added a field goal. The Lions will face Brookfield on 9/24 at 7:00.
Boys Cross Country
The Boys Cross Country team had a successful meet this past Tuesday 9/21 in a quad meet against Sheehan, North Haven, and Hamden. The Foran boys took first in the meet and extended their record to 4-2 overall. Notable finishes were Max Newton coming in 2nd with a PR time of 18:33 and Damon Downs coming in 3rd with a PR time of 18:35. The boys look forward to Saturday in an invitational at Winding Trails next!
Girls Cross Country
The girls' cross country team took down Hamden, North Haven, and Sheehan High Schools Tuesday at Wharton Brook State Park. The race was close! Foran took the top spot over Hamden by 4 points. Junior Anna Harris took third place coming in at 22:05, and Sophomore Nora Hayes took fifth with the time of 22:48. Freshman, Adrianna Gonzalez ran a personal best of 23:03. Grace Foley and Allie Regan closed out the scoring group with the 13th and 16th spots in the race. The team races in the Winding Trails Invitational this Saturday and will be taking on Shelton next week!
Volleyball
Last week, we traveled to Hillhouse and Career. On Wednesday against Hillhouse, our team worked hard and got the win 3-0! On Friday at Career, everyone contributed to our 3-0 win!
On Monday, we traveled to Guilford and played a tough match, losing 3-0. The Lion’s record is 2-3 and play Law and Lauralton this week.

The Foran High School Booster Club is a non-profit volunteer organization whose sole purpose is to support the student athletes that participate in the 25 men's and women's sports programs at Foran High School. In a time when school budgets are tight and athletic funding may run short, your membership dollars help fund equipment purchases and facility improvements above and beyond the athletic budget. 100% of your dues go to support our athletic programs. There will be a Tri-M Music Honor Society Meeting on Monday, September 27th at 2:00 p.m. in room 114 for all returning members.
GSA Meeting
GSA will be meeting on Thursday, September 30th at 2:15pm in room 256 (Yellow Hall)

Interact Club Meeting
There will be an Interact meeting on Monday, September 27th! During the school year we meet on Mondays at 2:00 pm in room 123. Come see what we are all about ! Are you interested in volunteering your time for a good cause to serve our Milford Community ? The Interact Club is the oldest community service club here at Foran High School.
Model UN Meeting
Model UN will be meeting for the first time Thursday, September 30th in room 205 (Red Hall)
2:00-2:30 for our first overall meeting.
