Good Afternoon ESMS families,
East Shore is buzzing with learning, creativity, and community spirit. From celebrating our talented musicians and spreading holiday cheer to supporting meaningful causes and enjoying some fun traditions together, there is a lot happening at ESMS. Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and for all the ways you support our students and school community. Below you’ll find important updates, upcoming events, and ways to get involved.
Winter Band/Strings Concert on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Foran High School: Join us for the Winter Band and Strings Concert on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Foran High School. Our student musicians have been working hard and are excited to share what they’ve been preparing. We hope to see you there.
Holiday Gift Drive: ESMS is once again supporting several families in need through our holiday gift drive. Families and staff who would like to participate are invited to select an item from the list and send all wrapped, clearly labeled gifts (with the correct mitten color and number) to Mrs. Kee or the main office by Friday, December 19. Thank you for helping make the holidays a little brighter for our ESMS community. Choose a family or gift here.
12 Days of December: You could feel the holiday spirit throughout the building this week as we kicked off our 12 Days of December! Each day brings a new way to show off our East Shore pride and have a little extra fun before break. Check the list here so your child can join in all the excitement.
PJ Day for Kids, Monday December 15th: Last year, 685 schools in Connecticut participated in PJ Day for the Kids by inviting students and staff to donate $1, or more, to wear PJs all day in support of kids battling childhood cancer at Connecticut Children's. Since 2011, more than $4.7 million has been raised in support of Connecticut Children's Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, with more than $698,000, raised in 2024 alone. Together, $1 (or more) at a time, we are making a difference! Donate $1, or more, to wear PJs in support of kids at Connecticut Children’s who wear their PJs for long periods of time while enduring treatment. Find more information here.
Cookies, Cookies, Cookies: Have a favorite family recipe or a “go-to” bakery? The PTA is organizing a No-Bake Cookie Swap for our staff on Monday, Dec. 22. We will provide boxes and send staff members home with an assortment of sweet treats to enjoy over the winter break. Homemade or store bought hand-held treats are welcome! Sign up here
