May 9 Family Weekly

Happy Friday!

Thank You for a Wonderful Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!
We had a fantastic week celebrating our incredible teachers and staff! A heartfelt thank you to all the families who contributed, and a special shoutout to our amazing PTA for helping make it all possible. Your support helped us show just how much we value the hard work, care, and dedication our educators bring to school every day.

Please take a few moments to review this week’s updates carefully so you don’t miss out on any of the important events and information. Thank you for your continued support!

SBA Testing Begins Monday: Our Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) will begin on Monday. These are digital tests that require up-to-date software. Please remind your child to fully power down and restart their Chromebook before Monday to ensure the secure browser updates properly.

Additional reminders:

  • Charge Chromebooks fully each night before testing

  • Students may bring their own headphones (wired preferred).

  • If students finish early, they are encouraged to bring a book to read quietly.

Thank you for your support in helping our students feel prepared and confident!

Mayor’s Youth Council: Mayor Tony Giannattasio is launching the Mayor’s Youth Council, a new opportunity for students to get involved in local government and share their ideas to help shape Milford’s future. Two students from each of Milford’s middle and high schools will be selected to serve on the council, which will meet quarterly at City Hall. This is a great way for students to learn about civic engagement and leadership. Applications are due by May 30, 2025, you can apply here. For more information, contact Justin Rosen at jrosen@milfordct.gov or 203-783-3201.
