Pack 7 is looking for kids grade K through 5 who are interested in joining the cub scouts. Pack meetings (meaning all age groups together) meet on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at Harborside Middle School. Den meetings (meaning age groups separately) will be held at Margaret Egan Center. They’re usually either once a month or every other week, during the week, at night - depending on the den leader. Our first pack meeting will be on September 5 at 6:30pm at the Harborside Middle School cafeteria. We invite everyone interested to join! 2024 Connecticut Sales Tax Free Week The 2024 Sales Tax Free Week is Sunday, August 18, through Saturday, August 24, 2024. Sales or purchases of certain items of clothing or footwear costing less than $100 per item are exempt from sales tax. This special exemption applies to purchases made from retailers located in Connecticut as well as from on-line retailers. Beth El Center's Community Kitchen is open as a COOLING CENTER until Sunday August 4th. This program will operate from the hours of 8 am until the end of dinner meal service (around 6 or 7 pm - depending on what time their volunteer group is serving) daily. Federal Summer Food Service Program to keep children fed during summer break. Through this program, no-cost meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, are available to children under 18 at over 400 sites across the state this summer through late August. Milford Public Library 2024 July Program Calendar July News at the Library! Summer Reading is back and in full swing at MPL! We hope you can join us. The Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in honor of Independence Day. Summer Reading continues throughout July until August 30! Win cool prizes just by reading or listening to books and magazines. Every book, audiobook, or magazine you read = one entry into our weekly prize drawing and one Grand prize drawing of an Apple iPad! Summer Reading 2024 for Children and Young Adults: READ, RENEW, REPEAT! will feature a wide variety of fun and engaging programs and events. For children there will be outdoor Storytime mini sessions, Yoga mini sessions, a summer StoryWalk at Eisenhower Park, as well as an evening Storytime and craft before you turn in for the night. Other July programs in Children’s include The Third Annual Chess Workshop Series, Summer Painting Event with the Giggling Pig, OzBot Robotics, a Pokemon Meet-up, Crafting Fairy Houses, Baking Strawberry Shortcake Cups from scratch, STEM Fundamentals with LEGO as well as an engaging music program with Al DeCant and a drama workshop with Ingrid Schaeffer and much more!

Tomorrow Night at the Milford Public Library! In order to prepare our elementary students for their Summer Reading efforts, the Milford Public Schools and the Milford Public Library are teaming up to present ‘Blast Off to Summer Reading!’ The event will be held at the Library, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., and include games, literacy activities, summer reading program info, and other fun times!

Now Enrolling for 2024-2025 Half-day preschool program focused on the development of Kindergarten readiness skills in an innovative learning environment. The Foran Child Learning Center located at Foran High School is now enrolling three and four year old students for the 2024-2025 school year. Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1st, 2024 to enroll. Our preschool is open to Milford residents and operates five days per week from 8:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. following the MPS school calendar.
