Orchard Hills Banner

Hello from all of us at Orchard Hills School!

At OHS our mission is to plan, implement, and evaluate rigorous and engaging tasks for students that are aligned across grades and levels within a restorative environment. Thus, all students will be more authentically engaged in collaborative learning that challenges their ability levels. They will develop a stronger understanding of academic and social practices necessary for college/career readiness. As a community we strive to ensure that our school will be a safe, orderly and caring place that supports and promotes student learning and positive relationships.

Our Pledge:  As OHS Eagles we care for others, we act responsibly, we show respect, and we never settle for less than our best!

Thank you,

Dr. Cliff Dudley, Principal

Thank you’ to the PTA and all the volunteers who provided the OHS staff with so many nice things for Teacher Appreciation Week.

Book Bee Final will be May 21.

East Shore Middle School Band will be here on May 29, to perform for students.  This is a change from May 22nd.

May 23 is a 1:25pm dismissal day because of teacher workshops.

Gr. 2 will be attending a performance of Peter & the Wolf, and Gr. 4 will be going to the Audubon.

There is no school on May 28, because of Memorial Day.

The district will be leaving the Parent Survey site open for a while longer. Please take a few moments to participate in this survey as the information helps us with our planning for the next school year.

If your child will not return to OHS next year (not including this year’s Gr. 5 students), please let us know. This is so we can prepare transfer records, and have correct grade number counts.

‘Thank you’ to all the volunteers who helped out with our successful plant sale this year!

We are outside for recess as often as possible. It is getting warmer, so please be sure your child comes to school with water and appropriate clothing. Flip-flop sandals are very dangerous for school use.

PTA meeting = Thursday, May 17th at 7pm.

OHS Teacher Appreciation Week is May 14 - 18. The PTA is looking forward to an exciting week of showing the OHS faculty and staff our gratitude. All families should have received information through room parents. Information can also be found on the OHS PTA Facebook page.

Please be aware that the district will be sending out a School Climate Survey for parents. The survey will be open online from April 27th to May 17th, and directions will be included in the email you receive. We use your feedback as part of the School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP) that we develop each year.
