John F. Kennedy School is an elementary school in Milford, CT serving students in Grades PK-5. We strive to help every child who walks through our doors reach their full potential.
Our goal at JFK is to create lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Our math instruction focuses on the conceptual foundations of mathematics so that students can become mathematical thinkers. Our writing instruction teaches the writing process through a workshop environment, where students are given the opportunities to write in a variety of genres and develop a love of writing. Our reading instruction gives students the skills they need to read increasingly complex texts and become critical thinkers. In addition to academics, we emphasize personal responsibility through our school code. Our dedicated faculty is comprised of professionals who continuously build their knowledge of effective educational practices.
JFK values our parent community as well. The JFK PTO hosts numerous events which improve our school climate and enrich our students. We believe that a strong partnership between parents and teachers creates a powerful force to improve the lives of children.
