**Please note:

All scholarship applications must be handed to Mrs. Skuches by the student in person. You may not email a scholarship into Guidance. This allows Mrs. Skuches the opportunity to review the scholarship application with the student and make sure that all the required documentation is contained in the packet. If the student is missing anything they can be informed immediately so they do not miss the scholarship deadline. 

If you are applying on-line for a scholarship and your transcript is required, see Mrs. Skuches in Guidance at least a week prior to the deadline date to make an appointment to have your transcript uploaded.

Sokol USA: Seniors who are of Slovak or Carpatho-Russian descent. Guidance deadline April 23, 2018.

The Milford Columbus Committee: Senior of Italian descent. Guidance deadline April 26, 2018.

Halle's Hope Scholarship: Senior who has demonstrated an exceptional impact and contribution to Milford's community of children and has an interest in working with children in the future. Guidance deadline April 13, 2018.

Above and Beyond Award: Senior who has helped in their school or community. Guidance deadline is April 12, 2018.

Workers Memorial Day Scholarship: Essay contest on one of three topics. Email the essay and completed application by April 1, 2018.

Aquarion Water: Award given to outstanding volunteer projects that have improved and protected Connecticut's natural resources. Nomination deadline May 1, 2018.

Connecticut Fire Sprinkler: Essay contest "Making the Case for a Home Fire Sprinkler System". Guidance deadline May 8, 2018.

Foran Booster Club: Senior who participated on a sports team, cheerleader or team manager for at least 2 years and who has earned a varsity letter. Guidance deadline to apply is April 12, 2018.

Michael Dennehy Memorial Scholarship: Senior who participated on a sports team, cheerleader or team manager for at least 2 years and earned a varisity letter. Guidance deadline April 12, 2018.

Britton John Broatch Scholarship: Senior who participated in a high school sport and has good academic standing. Preference will be given to a student in foster care. Guidance deadline April 12, 2018.

Milford Indians Wrestling Club: Senior who is a current member of the wrestling team with a minimum 3.0 gpa. Guidance deadline to apply is April 23, 2018.

Daniel S. Wasson Memorial Scholarship: Renewable scholarship for a Milford senior who is the child or grandchild of a member of the Milford Police Benevolent Association. Guidance deadline to apply is May 21, 2018.

Carter Cares Scholarship: Guidance deadline March 23, 2018.

Milford Rotary Scholarship: Two scholarships. Alan Jepson requires additional essay. Application must be completed online no handwritten applications will be accepted. Guidance deadline April 23, 2018.

Devon Rotary Scholarship: 15 individual scholarships, one application. Guidance deadline April 9, 2018.

Milford Chamber of Commerce: 25 individual scholarships with only one application. Note one letter of recommendation must be from a peer.Guidance deadline to apply April 6, 2018.

James Radley Mattioli Memorial Scholarship: Two scholarships one for a senior majoring in math or a math related degree (Architecture or Engineering), the other is for a student who has worked as a lifeguard and plans to pursue a degree in Fire Science, Public Safety or Criminal Justice. Guidance deadline is April 6, 2018.

Michael Miller Memorial Scholarship: Student who participates in a sport. Guidance deadline April 5, 2018.

Lyle James Memorial Scholarship: Student that demonstrates academic scholarship, is in good standing and possesses a solid work ethic. Guidance deadline April 6, 2018.

Local Scholarship Packet: This is an application for local scholarships and awards presented at  the Senior Awards Night. It has three pages.Guidance deadline is April 6, 2018.

Jim Rose Memorial Scholarship: Two awards. One of the awards will be given to a student identified with special education needs or a qualified disability. Guidance deadline April 6, 2018.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society Connecticut Chapter: Four cash grants for seniors who are entering teacher education. The grants are: Elizabeth Sonier grant for music education, Hannah Griswold grant for a minority senior planning to pursue a acreer in education, Lee Formica grant senior entering teacher education program, and Margaret Rose Nielsen grant senior planning to pursue a degree in a teaching degree in Math, Science or Technology. Guidance deadline March 29, 2018.

The Carla Squatrito Scholarship: A female student planning to pursue a filed of study in Business, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Entrepreneurship. or other related areas. Guidance deadline March 23, 2018.

The Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship: Student who plans on majoring in Education. Guidance deadline March 23, 2018.

The Watershed Fund: Senior based on demonstrated academic ability, concern for school and community, life experience, student personal statement, teacher/advisor recommendation and financial need. Guidance deadline March 23, 2018.

American Italian Women Scholarship: Seniors of Italian descent (maternal and or paternal lineage) are eligible for this scholarship. Students must demonstrate a stron academic record and need for financial assistance.Guidance deadline April 30, 2018.

UNICO Local Scholarship: Candidates will be evaluated on their academic achievements (3.0 GPA or higher) national test scores (SAT/ACT), extra curricular school participation and community involvement. Guidance deadline to apply March 26, 2018. 

UNICO National Scholarships:  Many different scholarships. Senior with Italian heritage. Online only. Guidance due date March 26, 2018.

Orthopaedic Specialty Group Scholarship: Seniors pursuing a 4 year degree in musculoskeletal care. Examples of career choice studies for consideration include: nursing, physician, physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, radiology, bio-engineering related to musculoskeletal surgery. Guidance deadline to apply April 27, 2018.

Swing for a Cure: Qualifications: 1. Grade Point Average minimum of 3.0 (must submit transcript for verification) 2. High school senior at Joseph A. Foran High School 3. Active community service 4. Scholarship amount: $1,500 Documentation: 1. Maximum 500 word essay describing your passion for community service 2. 1 letter of recommendation. Middlesex County Blue Star Mothers Scholarship: Senior attending a four year college in the fall who has a parent or legal guardian actively serving in the military, or who was honorably discharged. Guidance deadline March 22, 2018.

 The Dennis Malone Memorial Scholarship: The Connecticut Parks Association, Inc. Seniors with financial need planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college to pursue a career in park management, forestry, horticulture, agronomy, or closely related field. Guidance deadline to apply April 9, 2018.

Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven: Stuart J. Drell Scholarship, Mary Taylor Friedler Memorial Scholarship, Emma Kohn Podoloff Scholarship. Must be a Jewish high school senior to qualify. Please click on the link for more information. Guidance deadline April 24, 2018.

Glenn Moon Scholarship: Seniors planning on a career in teaching. Guidance deadline to apply is March 23, 2018.

New Haven Mineral Club: Senior planning to study science (Geology, Mining, Chemistry, Physics, Metallurgy, Material Science, Engineering and other related science fields). To recieve an application please send a written request to: NHMC Scholarship Application- Frank Karsmarski- 69 Woodvale Drive- Northford, Ct. 06472. The Brill Scholarship: The scholarships are open to Connecticut students who are allies to or members of the LBGTQ community, are involved in support, education and/or advocacy in their school or community, planning to attend a college or technical school or other accredited educational institution. Guidance deadline to apply March 16, 2018.

Milford Eagles Charles Boyle Scholarship: Scholarship for a Milford Pop Warner participant for a minimum of 4 years or more. High school senior attending college or technical school or the military with a 2.8 or above gpa. Must be an active participant in highschool with athletics/cheer and demonstrated leadership and participate in community service. Guidance deadline April 6, 2018.

Professional Women in Construction: Scholarship for male or female student who will be studying Construction Management, Interior Design, Architecture, Landscape Design or Civil, Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering. Guidance deadline March 13, 2018.

Ride for Justin: Seniors eligible to appy for this scholarship must meet one of the following: be a current firefighter in Connecticut, be the child, step-child, sibling or spouse of a firefighter in any town or city in Connecticut. Guidance deadline March 23, 2018.

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship: The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewable, four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others (in school, their community, or at home), a strong work ethic, and leadership qualities.Guidance deadline March 27, 2018.

Nursing Schools Almanac: is proud to announce our fourth annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. We will award a $1,000 scholarship to a future nurse in the high school graduating class of 2018. The winner will best demonstrate: A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics courses. A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. Deadline to appy August 31, 2018. 

AES Scholarship:Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Deadline to apply October 6, 2018.

Peter Ladd/Johnny Moran Memorial Scholarship: Senior planning to attend a 2 or 4 year accredited college who has volunteered with children or adults with special needs or disabilities. Guidance deadline March 26, 2017.

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship: US citizen or permanent resident, 3.0 gpa or higher on a 4.0 scale, senior planning to attend a four year school, demonstrated leadership abilities, community service or extra curricular activities, parents combined adjusted income cannot exceed $50,000.00. Guidance deadline March 21, 2017.

Milton Fischer Scholarship: This scholarship is open to a student who has come up with a distinctive solution to a problem faced by your family, school, community or the world or a student who has solved an artistic, scientific, or technical problem in a new or unusual way. Guidance deadline April 23, 2018.

B. Davis Scholarship: Write an essay of less than 1000 words . Your submission must be sent to "Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual. No transcripts or letters of recommendation required. Deadline to apply May 22, 2018. 

Wace Scholarship Partnership:  Students must plan to attend one of the member schools which include Clarkson University, Merrimack College, Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York Oswego, The University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Wentworth Institute of Technology. The deadline to apply for this scholarship varies by school and application period. Please check the deadlines carefully for the individual schools. Transcripts and letters of recommendations are not required. A 200 word essay, and a cumulative high school gpa of 3.5 is required.
