PTA Committees

There are many opportunities for you to become involved in our school.  Do you like to craft?  Maybe you like to take notes? Or perhaps you're good at organizing things?  Or maybe you like to be a 'worker bee'?  Take a look at the committees listed below and find one (or more!) that might interest you and contact the chairperson/s listed for each committee (or any one of our officers) if you'd like to help.  We'd love to hear from you! Bylaws (Standing Committee)
Reviews PTA bylaws and coordinates making changes, getting appropriate approvals
and acceptance votes in order to comply with CT PTA requirements.

Calf's Corner School Store
Calf's Corner school store sells school spirit items, school supplies and other fun items for students and their families. The store is open once per month and during various school events.

Budget (Standing Committee)
This committee reviews the budget that gets presented to PTA membership for approval.


Cultural Enrichment Program
This is a committee consisting of parents and teachers working together to bring educational, exciting and fun programs to our school.

Fundraising Committee
Coordinates all fundraisers, assists in planning, distribution and scheduling of each fundraiser.

Membership (Standing Committee) 
This committee helps recruit and retain new and existing PTA members.

Nominating (Standing Committee)
This committee is comprised of at least 3 volunteers, elected by CPM PTA, who work to solicit candidates for Board of Directors slate for the next school year.  Serving on the Nominating Committee is limited to only a few months in the spring of each year, with the final slate expected for presentation to the PTA general membership each April for a vote.

PTA/CPM Newsletter “The Graze” 
Parent volunteer puts together the monthly newsletter full of news about what is happening at CPM and coordinates copying and distribution of this newsletter.

PTA Council Representative (Standing Committee)
Represents our school at the Milford PTA Council meeting each month and reports to CPM PTA on any business or legislative issues affecting our school or students.


Involves contact with local newspapers regarding upcoming events and announcements and taking photos during events.


Reading Incentive
Creates enthusiasm about reading through incentives. Keeps track of reading hours that the students read at home.

Volunteer Coordinator
Parent volunteer coordinates all committee volunteers for every event and activity.

Coordinates all activities related to the walk-a-thon event on school grounds on a Saturday in the Fall.


Website Coordinator 
Responsible for maintaining the CPM PTA website and updating each week the "on-line" Friday folders.
