Health & Safety

Keeping staff and students safe is of the highest priority here in the Milford Public Schools.

The facts are clear: there is no substitute for in-person instruction with our students. Attending school in-person not only gives us the ability to provide high quality instruction to our students, but also gives us the opportunity to support students who may have social-emotional needs, including their mental and physical health, and in mitigating the impacts of trauma.

In order to maintain a safe, consistent in-person school experience for every young person and staff member in the Milford Public Schools, you will play a critical role in supporting the new culture of health and safety in our schools. Your partnership with us on this will help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and preserve the in-person school experience your child, classmates, and the entire school population truly need. Please help us in these efforts:

Stay at Home if Feeling Ill: Students and staff must stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or if they have come in close contact with someone with COVID-19.

Daily Monitoring of Health: Parents and staff are expected to screen daily for symptoms, including temperature checks. Consider using smartphone ‘apps’ such as How We Feel which can help you diagnose symptoms and support the work of contact tracers.

Face Covering or Masks Required. More details here.

Social Distancing Required: Students and staff must maintain social distancing to the greatest extent possible (6 ft. minimum recommended). Students and staff are expected to practice social distancing when entering and exiting the building, in classrooms, and when moving throughout the school.

Sharing of school supplies, materials, or other items : Sharing the use of items will be limited to those materials that can be disinfected between uses. Students will not be able to bring items in from home.
