Familairizing Yourself with the Second Grade
We have spent the last few weeks creating realistic self-portraits with cut paper.  Each student has looked in the mirror to notice every detail of him or herself and has translated their observations onto paper.  Their work is turning out beautifully and will soon be on display!

First Grade Visits the Sea
The first graders are finishing up their seahorse unit to compliment their trip to the Audubon.  We read both fiction and non-fiction books on seahorses and made paintings/cray-pas drawings depicting their underwater habits.  Ask your child what he or she learned about seahorses.  They know many interesting facts!

Kindergarten Happenings
The kindergarten students are becoming familiar with basic skills used in art, such as drawing, painting, cutting and gluing.  We studied the book "The Perfect Purple Feather" and made animal collages.  This week, we read "Harold and the Purple Crayon" and are illustrating our own imaginary journey in an accordian book.
