Happy Friday, MPS Family!

Summer has finally arrived – and not a minute too soon.  Gorgeous weather.  Lovely breezes. Lots to do.  What’s better than Milford in the summer? Nothing!  We will continue to send this Friday message to help ‘keep everyone in the loop’ as to what is happening in the week ahead.  And, as always, click on the Upcoming Events link to see all of the flyers uploaded there that pertain to our community.

Health Dept. Announces 3 Free Immunization Clinics: July 10th, Aug. 14th and Aug. 23rd.

Does your child need one or more immunizations to be compliant for the start of school in the Fall?  The Milford Health Dept. will be holding 3 convenient (and FREE!) clinics for students age 18 years or younger.  Click HERE for the flyer.



TONIGHT! Friday, June 22nd: The Annual Chair-ity Auction, @ Milford Yacht Club, 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., sponsored by the Milford Education Foundation. Tickets are limited.  Register now.  Since 2013, the Milford Education Foundation has supplemented the good works happening in our district by supplying funds to the Teacher Mini-Grant Program and other programs for students.  The Annual Chair-ity Auction helps raise these much needed funds – and combines it with a wonderful evening of food and fun.  There are 12 chairs in all up for bid – each with its own unique character and story.  C’mon over and join the party!  Click HERE for the flyer and ticket info.


TONIGHT! Friday, June 22nd: Harbor Lights/Summer Nights Concert Series Kicks Off with the Milford Concert Band, @ Fowler Field/Rotary Pavilion area, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. FREE!  Here’s a great way to start the summer season!  A FREE live concert!  Bring a lawn chair, pack some snacks, round up the kids and enjoy this lovely summer mainstay:  the Harbor Lights/Summer Nights Concert kicks off tonight with the Milford Concert Band, directed by Duane Berge.  This family-style concert will feature pop and show medleys, symphonic masterworks and patriotic favorites.  The band consists of 35 musicians, from middle school age to retirees!  C’mon down and enjoy an easy, relaxing start to the weekend. 7:00 start. FREE.

Saturday, June 30th: Dash for Danni 5K, @ Foran High School, suggested arrival time is 11:00 a.m., $30 for ages 19+; $25 for ages 18 and under.  The 2nd Annual Dash for Danni 5K will take place on Saturday, June 30th – and everyone is welcome to participate.  Danni Kemp, a 2015 Foran High graduate, was a softball standout there and, later, at Stonybrook University.  Sadly, in March 2017, Danni passed away after a valiant battle against brain cancer.  This race has been organized in her honor with all proceeds going to the Danni Kemp Cancer Support Fund, a 501 c3 nonprofit fund. Saturday, June 30th: Milford’s  Kick Off to Summer, @ Lisman Landing, 4:00 – 11:00 p.m. FREE ADMISSION.  One of the BEST days of the year in Milford!  Gather your friends and family – and venture downtown to Lisman Landing to enjoy Milford’s summer kick off party!  There will be Bands (Gear Junkies and the Rum Runners), and Food Trucks/Adult beverages with items for purchase – and a wonderful Fireworks show (start time is 9:15 p.m.).  Keep in mind – there will be NO PARKING at Lisman Landing, Coast Guard Station, or Fowler Field.  As an option, shuttles will run continuously from Wasson Field, Milford Senior Center, and Harborside Middle School.  Our thanks to sponsors The Milford Bank, Devon Rotary, Wines and More, and, of course, the City of Milford!  Click HERE for the flyer and make sure you put it on your calendar for next weekend.
