Hello Friends!

It’s T-minus 7 DAYS AND COUNTING until we recess for the Holiday Break – and it’s a foregone conclusion that the Boston Post Road will be JAMMED with holiday shoppers over the weekend.  Be safe – and remember to laugh!  It’s all good.  As always, here’s the link to the UPCOMING EVENTS ELECTRONIC BULLETIN BOARD.  Take a look at all the good things happening in and around town.

And now, on to the news ….

Monday, Dec. 17th – Friday, Dec. 21st Regular Schedule all week

Welcome to Word of the Week.  Each week we will post a word here – and provide the definition at the end of this piece. Do you know the definition of the word JUDICIOUS?

Toys For Tots – Last Call:  Dec. 19th @ City Clerk’s Office:  If you’re doing any last minute shopping this weekend, make sure you jot down that the City Clerk’s office can accept any donations for the Toys for Tots program up through WEDNESDAY, (Dec. 19th).  All you’ll feel is good knowing you’ve helped make a child happy.

Nutcracker Performance Next Week: As part of our fine arts curriculum, students in the  Milford Public Schools attend two professional performances during their time with us.  Next week, students in Grade 4 will attend The Nutcracker, as performed by the New England Ballet.  We always enjoy watching the students’ faces as they experience a live performance of this caliber.  Truly magical.

TONIGHT! Friday, Dec. 14th: The Pine Forest Nutcracker, a ballet performance of the Little Wing Adaptive Ballet Company (students with special needs), Parsons, 7:00 p.m., Free – but $5 donations recommended. We mentioned this last week and it was the feature story of this week’s Minute with the Mayor as presented by Mayor Blake.  Today we’re just giving you a reminder – it’s TONIGHT!  The Pine Forest Nutcracker will be performed this evening right on the Parsons Auditorium stage.  Everyone is welcome to enjoy the interpretive presentation of this seasonal favorite.  The Little Wing Adaptive Ballet Company, formed in 2008 in conjunction with the Milford Recreation Dept., involves dozens of our students with special needs who will perform this evening.  Don’t miss it!  Free to all – but please consider giving a donation (that will be used for future performances). FLYER.

Word of the Week Definition: JUDICIOUS - (pronounced: ‘joo-DISH-us’). Definition: showing good judgment; wise.  “When George found a wallet containing cash on the side of the road, he decided the judicious action would be to bring it to the police station.”

Enjoy the beauty of this holiday season.  We’ll see you next week.
