Hello Friends!

Brrr … Mother Nature served us up a curve ball yesterday!  We hope this week’s message finds you safe and warm for the upcoming weekend.  There are only a few specific items we need to share with you today – but we are sure you will be more than busy with many chores and activities in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Nevertheless – here’s the link to our UPCOMING EVENTS bulletin board.  Enjoy!

What are you doing Monday night? Join us for Dr. Cutaia’s next ‘Listen and Learn’ Tour @ ESMS, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.; she wants to hear from YOU!  

Please join us as Dr. Cutaia continues her ‘Listen and Learn’ Tour on Monday night (Nov. 19th), starting at 7:00 p.m. at East Shore Middle School.  All are welcome, no matter what school/s your student/s attend.  As our new superintendent, Dr. Cutaia is very interested in receiving your input on the following 3 questions:

1. What are you proud of?

2. Where can Milford Public Schools continue to grow?

3. What do you want her to understand about our district’s work and traditions?

Dr. Cutaia will also hold one final ‘Listen’ session on Wednesday, Nov. 28th @ WSMS, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

We hope you can attend one of these very important conversations.  Thanks, in advance, for your willingness to help us continue to improve the Milford Public Schools!

 

Annual PowderPuff Game, Tuesday, Nov. 20th @ Jonathan Law HS, 6:00 p.m., $5 The Annual PowderPuff Football Game has become a fun tradition here in Milford.  Lady athletes and leaders from each school participate in this annual flag-football matchup.  This year, Jonathan Law will host the event; start time is 6:00 p.m.  $5 at the gate.  Please join us for this pre-cursor to the annual Thanksgiving Day game (see next entry). 

 

Annual Thanksgiving Day Game, Thursday, Nov. 22nd @ Foran HS, 10:30 a.m., $7 The Annual Thanksgiving Day Game features cross-town rivals Foran High School and Jonathan Law High School and takes place on Thanksgiving morning.  This year, it’s Foran High’s turn to host ‘the big game’ which starts at 10:30 a.m.  See additional details below:

 

Annual Thanksgiving Day Game: Foran vs. Law

Date: Thursday, Nov. 22nd

Place:  Foran High School, 80 Foran Road

Time:  10:30 a.m.

Tickets:  $7 at the gate; $5 if purchased in advance

Bundle up and join your friends and neighbors for this traditional classic! Hope to see you there.

 

No ‘Upcoming News & Events’ next week:  Due to next week’s holiday, Upcoming News & Events will not be issued next Friday. Our publication will resume the following Friday (Nov. 30th).

 

Annual Student-Staff Volleyball Game @ Foran High School, to benefit the United Way; Monday, 11/26 @ 6:30 p.m., Tix: $5  As part of their annual United Way pledge drive, Foran High School is getting ready for their 3rd Annual Student-Staff Volleyball Game.  Mark your calendars now:  Monday, 11/26 @ 6:30 p.m. Tix are $5 – all proceeds go to the United Way of Milford.  Hope to see you there! FLYER.

 

Word of the Week Definition: HIATUS: (pronounced hy-ATE-us).  A break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc.  “Next week, our district will be on a short hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday.”

 

In closing, we wish ‘you and yours’ a happy, safe, fulfilling Thanksgiving holiday.  Here at the Milford Public Schools, we are grateful for all that you do for our kids, our schools, and our city.  We are truly blessed!
