Upcoming News & Events, 10/26 and Beyond

Hello Milford Public Schools Family!

We were so pleased with the great turn-out of parents and guardians during this week’s Parent Teacher Conferences.  A big ‘thank you’ to all staff who worked to prepare for this time-honored tradition and to the parents who invested their time to learn more about their child’s education.  Terrific!  And don’t forget – if you ever have any comments or questions, you can reach out to your child’s teacher at any time – not just during Parent Teacher Conferences.

On another subject, it looks like we are in for some wicked weather this weekend.  High winds, rain, the full gamut.  Take a moment to ‘batten down the hatches’ at home tonight before the storm arrives.  Stay safe!

Ballot Preview Link Shows Who You Can Vote For: One of the purposes of our Upcoming News & Events messaging is to make these days a little easier for everyone.  That said, and with the abundance of election advertising messages lately, you may be getting confused as to which candidates will be listed on your specific ballot.  To help keep it all straight, here’s a great link we found.  Just click on the link, then click WHAT'S ON YOUR BALLOT, and then type in your street address, followed by Milford, CT (you do NOT have to provide your email). Your specific sample ballot list will pop up. Give it a try - pretty cool!  BALLOT PREVIEW.

EVENTS

NEXT Saturday, Nov. 3rd: Annual Preschool Showcase, held @ Milford Public Library, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., FREE. When it’s time to think about preschool options for your little ones, it can be a bit overwhelming.  Here’s an easy way to consider what’s out there.  The Annual Preschool Showcase gives parents the ability to interface with representatives from many of the preschool programs in Milford.  Find out about school’s philosophy, curriculum, registration, and fees.  Thanks to Kids Count for putting this program together.  Click HERE for the flyer.

Word of the WeekDoppelgänger (pronounced: DAH-pell-gang-er).  German origin.  Meaning: a ‘body double’ or alter ego.  Someone who looks a lot like another person.

And with that, we bring this week to a close.

Have a great weekend, everyone. Stay dry and we’ll see you next week!
