NEWS

Jonathan Law Football to be Featured Tonight on NEWS 8’s Game of the Week! Game Tonight @ Law, 7:00 p.m.   It’s official! JLHS Football will be featured tonight as News 8’s “Game of the Week!”  Thanks to the thousands of folks who voted for this game – it is sure to be a night to remember.  A pre-game visit by News 8’s Ryan Kristafer took place early this morning at the school and now the team is ready to take on Stratford High School on Law’s home turf.  Start time:  7:00 p.m.  Bundle up, friends, it’s gonna be COLD out there!

 

Prime ‘Leaf Peeping’ this Weekend: We are so fortunate to live in New England – and we are in PRIME leaf peeping time right now!  Many families like to pack up the car and make a day of it!  Click HERE for the interactive map, provided by our Connecticut Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection.  Lots of nice day trips listed there, as well. Have fun and bring your camera!

 

EVENTS

Saturday, Oct. 13th: Bottle and Can Drive, First United Church of Christ Parking Lot, (46 West Main St.), 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.    Reduce/Re-use/Recycle! Here’s a way to recycle AND help out our friends working with a variety of youth groups.  Bring your redeemable bottles and cans to the First United Church of Christ Parking Lot (46 West Main Street), directly across from the front of the Parsons building between 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.  The youth groups will redeem them to help fund future local service projects. Wednesday, Oct. 17th: Car Seat Safety Check, Milford Police Dept., FREE! Call for appointment (see below).   Ever wonder if you’ve installed your child’s car seat properly?  Wonder no more!  The Milford Police Dept. offers free Car Seat Safety Checks on the 3rd Wednesday of every month (that’s this coming Wednesday).  The seat must be assembled and the owner must have made the attempt to install it already.  Bring your car seat instructions.  To have your child’s car seat checked, call to make an appointment:  (203) 874-2366.  FLYER.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 24th  – Friday, October 26th: Parent Teacher Conferences, (coming soon)! TIP SHEET.   Make the most of your Parent Teacher Conference.  This tip sheet provides great ideas to prepare for this visit with your child’s teacher/s.  TIP SHEET.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 31st: Halloween and Trick or Treating Safety Tips. Take a look at this great Halloween Tip Sheet.  Make sure you keep your children safe while having fun!  HALLOWEEN TIPS.
