Adult Education Program Now Accepting Credit/Debit Cards Online

Milford Adult Ed Program to Accept Credit Cards for Payment Online
More than 130 Courses to Choose From – Registration Now Open Online

MILFORD – With more than 130 courses offered in a wide and robust range of topics, the Milford Adult Education program continues to grow and, this month, it is expected to grow even further thanks to the addition of accepting credit cards for payment when registering online.  Beginning August 1st, Program Director Lori Hart is pleased to announce the program will accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express credit cards for tuition payment.  Debit cards carrying the logo of any of these four credit card companies will also be accepted.

Online registration for General Interest courses began Aug. 1st for those choosing to pay with a credit/debit card. Residents are encouraged to visit the district’s website at www.milforded.org to get started.  The Adult Education page is located under the Our Schools tab on the home page.  The traditional paper Course Catalog will be mailed to every household in Milford beginning in early August.

The General Interest course list has clearly changed over the years as the program works to cater to the newer, current interests of residents – while keeping the long-standing favorites in the mix.  Courses such as Beach Comber Art, iPad/iPhone Basics, Make Your Own Essential Oils, Furniture Painting, Mortgages 101, CyberSecurity for your Home, Yoga and dozens more help keep the program fresh and relevant for today’s Milfordites.  And, of course, all the old favorites – Knitting, Woodworking, Dance, Wine, Fitness, Basic Automotive and more still generate high interest and attendance.

In addition, just over a year ago, the program began to offer scholarships for certain courses, thanks to a community block grant made available through the Economic and Community Development office.  Qualifying income-eligible residents hoping to gain or improve their employment skills may apply.  Some of the available courses include Bookkeeping Basics, Basic Computer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Online Job Searching, and others. The scholarship application form also appears on the district website at www.milforded.org.
