This staff development opportunity begins where the 5-day institute "Technology
as an Instrument for Change" left off. There you learned all about student "questioning"
and the "research cycle" by looking at work by Jamie McKenzie Ed.D. You will
keep that information in mind as you develop a second unit of study or revise
an existing project that infuses technology and incorporates higher order thinking
skills. Once again, we will offer individual or small group lessons to meet
the needs of each individual teacher.
Institutes will be held at the

Cyber Inquiry
A CyberInquiry is a transition step between a guided tour and a WebQuest.
Like the
WebQuest, the CyberInquiry requires that the student analyze, synthesize and
evaluate. The student is challenged to
think critically to solve a task. The difference is that in a CyberInquiry,
the project is linear.
The teacher provides background material for the investigation, but the student
generates additional research on the topic.
Surweb -MultiMedia Maker
At this site you can create multimedia presentations and matching quizzes students
can take and the results will be emailed to
you. There are thousands of images, sound files, animations or you can use your
own images and sound files. There are
many lessons you can use that were created by others.
ThinkQuest - Library

It is best to look at the winners as they have
been evaluated for there accuracy and design.
Web Designed Lesson NOT a WebQuest
Please read this web-based lesson -Looking Critically at Political Advertisements. Think about what the teacher expected the students to learn, how assessments might happen, was this a good use of technology?
