Worksheets: Task Cards and reading strategy chart
Summary/Directions: Prepared Task Cards are given to pairs of students.
The Task Cards simply send them to different areas of
the solar system. After modeling how to get to the site and go to Level
1 ( Grade 3 reading level) - each pair of students read orally
their page and fill in a 3-2-1 reading strategy chart suggested by Dr.
Monti - 3 interesting facts, 2 new ideas, 1 question. When students
finish their assignment they can explore the other parts of this site
such as games, send a postcard, etc. After all students are done they
should share their information and question in some way. For example
the teacher could create a chart using the information the students

have then read aloud to each other. Model how to use the Glossary and
how to enlarge photos. Have glue sticks , colored pencils or crayons
