Finding a Sponsor
Warsaw is where we pick up the money for our steamship tickets. My older brothers, Isaac and Reuben and Asher, have worked hard to save the money so we can join them in America. These older brothers of mine, they left Russia fourteen years ago, before my birth. Ð Rifka
Introduction: As a requirement for entry into America, all immigrants must have proof of a sponsor, a friend or family member who lives in the US who is willing to provide a place for them to live.
Task Two: You will write a proper friendly letter to someone seeking their sponsorship. You must explain your reasons for wanting to leave "home," what you have to offer them in exchange for their generosity (will you help around the house, fix things, etc.), and how long you think you will have to stay before finding a job and place of your own.
