We publish a classroom newspaper everyday called Room 18 News. A child is selected to be the reporter for the day. The reporter records the date and works with the teacher to check the weather in Milford, CT, Nome, Alaska, and Orlando, Florida using weather.com which is then recorded in Room 18 News. The children learn about and compare the climates in the various places. The recorder writes sentences about news that is important to him/her. Another child is also selected to write news. The children then illustrate their news and then it is published! The children enjoy reading their very own newspaper.
