Introduction
McGray Hall Publishing Company is having
a contest. They need 10 new fables to be written to finish a book they
have created. Aseop, the famous writer of fables, has written over 500
fables. Now it your turn to do so. The prize will be having your work
published in this important book.
The Task
You will:
listen to a variety of fables on the computer
read more from our books.
then create a new fable of your choice.
use ClarisWorks to write and illustrate your fable.

The Process
To
accompolish this task, you need to know what a fable is.
A fable is a kind of story that:
1. that has animal characters that are smart, foolish, sly, or clever
2 these characters play tricks on other characters in the story
3.one character makes a decision that is not good
4.the story teaches us a lesson on what is good
5. the stories are short, enjoyable, and help us learn a lesson
You will

Next you draw characters,
morals. and traits out of a hat to start your stories.
You will write a fable that will teach a lesson.
Remember to include the moral finding at the end of your story.
You will use ClarisWorks to type your story and wewill use the draw
portion to illustrate.
Evaluation
The Publisher of McGray Hall will decided which of the
fables he will add to the book.
It will be judged on:
1. how well you told your story
2. the moral you have chosed to write about
3. the way the story was written ( grammar and spelling)
4. your illustration
