| Graduation
with Distinction for Community Service The
Milford Board of Education recently approved a new program to recognize
students who do community service. Community
service is a voluntary time (without compensation) spent on selfless acts
which benefit the school, community
and/or the wider community. Not
included are the following:
Criteria: Upon
graduation, students who have completed 200 hours or more of community
service in at least 3 of 4 high school years, with at least 40 hours in
each of the 3 years over grades 9 -12, will be awarded a Diploma with
Distinction for Community Service. The
guidelines are as follows:
Please note: The Community Service Recognition Program with Mrs. Morlath is still in effect for juniors and seniors as they are not eligible for Graduation with Distinction. This program will be phased out in two years. Juniors and seniors may still submit Community Service Recognition slips to Mrs. Morlath. These students will be recognized at the end of the year. Please see Mrs. Morlath if you have any questions about either program. Forms will be available in the Guidance Office. |
