Applications for the scholarships listed below are available in the College and Career Room.

 

AFC Lending: Several scholarships. Apply on-line by May 31st.

 

Abbott & Fenner: Open to juniors & seniors. Essay required on choice of two topics. Deadline: June 20th.

 

Big Sun: Student athletes. Essay required. Apply on-line by: June 20th.

 

Nelnet: Random drawing. Apply on-line. Drawings are held monthly from Nov. 9, 2007 to Aug. 8, 2008.

 

Emma Kohn Podoloff (National Council of Jewish Women): Students of Jewish descent with a "B" average. Guidance deadline: May 23rd.

 

Conn. Association of Women Police: Students who plan to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. Guidance deadline: May 23rd.

 

Conn. Sun Foundation: Students with a minimum 1010 SAT or 21 ACT and a 3.0 GPA who plan to attend a college in Conn. Guidance deadline: May 20th.

 

National Federation of the Blind: Legally blind students. Guidance deadline: June 20th.

 

Greater New Haven Women's Division of the American Committee on Italian Migration: Students of Italian descent. Guidance deadline: June 9th.

 

Portuguese-American Civic League of Bridgeport: Students from Portuguese speaking families. Guidance deadline: June 20th.

 

Greater New Haven Women's Division of the American Committee on Italian Migration: Students of Italian descent. Guidance deadline: June 9th.

 

National Federation of the Blind: Students who are legally blind. Guidance deadline: June 20th.

 

Kennedy Center 17th Annual Charity Golf Classic: Student will be selected to play in the tournament on June 16th and will receive a scholarship award. Guidance deadline: May 12th.

 

Milton Fisher/Community Foundation for Greater New Haven: Students who display evidence of innovative and creative problem solving. Guidance deadline: June 11th.

 

Kiwanis Club of Milford: Essay required on goals and plans for the future and why you would be a worthy recipient of an award from a club which has the motto: "We Build". Guidance deadline: May 23rd.

 

Milford Jaycees/Pamela Moffitt Memorial: Students who excel in academics and have performed community service. Guidance deadline: May 16th.

 

Milford Road Runners: Students who run track or cross country. Guidance deadline: May 27th.

 

Kline Family Community Service: Students who plan to attend UCONN and have performed community service. Deadline: July 1st.

 

Center for Disability Rights: Student with a significant disability that affects a major life activity. Deadline: May 15th.

 

Rock Cats Foundation and Dunkin' Donuts: Must be a member of a sports team with a minimum of 1300 SAT (based on 2400 scale) and a 3.0 GPA. Guidance deadline: May 23rd.

 

Conn. Power & Energy Foundation: Students who plan to major in engineering or science. Student may send direct. Deadline: May 23rd.

 

Cape Verdean Women's Social Club: Students of Cape Verdean heritage. Guidance deadline: May 23rd.

 

New England Counselors of Color Bridging Access to College: Book scholarships available to students of color who will be attending member colleges (list of member colleges is attached to the application). Deadline: May 15th.

 

Tau Kappa Epsilon: Male students who plan to attend UCONN who have excelled academically and been involved in extracurricular activities. Guidance deadline: June 20th.

 

State of Connecticut Latino & Puerto Rican Affairs Commission: Students of Latino heritage with a 3.0 GPA. Guidance deadline: May 30th.

Financial Aid

Students applying for financial aid need to consult the colleges that they are applying to. Most colleges have a financial aid application. You will also need to complete a “FAFSA” Form, (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) which is available in the Guidance Office. You may also apply on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Some schools also require you to complete a “CSS Profile” which is available in the College and Career Room.
