They made a positive difference in the lives of others.

OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT:

You will be using a variety of sources to identify a person to profile. The person that you choose should be one who has made a positive difference in the lives of others. This person may be a political leader, an author, a sports figure, an entertainer, etc. All selections need to be approved by your language arts teacher before you research your subject. You must have a minimum of TWO sources when you research your topic: ONE book source and ONE Internet source.

You must have your book source before you begin your Internet research. Your research on the Internet will be done in the computer lab or in the classroom on the laptops. You may do additional research from home.

Use the checklist below to be sure you have a suitable subject. You should be able to check off every item on the list before you present your choice to your teacher.

____ Subject lived during the 20th Century (1900s)
(May have been born in late 1800s)

____Subject has made major positive accomplishments to others in the 20th Century

*Keep in mind that only one person in this class may choose a certain subject. Your subject cannot duplicate any other student in class. Your teacher will provide a sign-up sheet. You must show your teacher the book when you sign up for your subject.

You will use research information from your book and the Internet to complete individual and team project activities. You will be given a project packet with these activities.
