The Souperwocky
'Twas Brothy, and the garlic cloves
Did boil and bubble in the pot:
All hungry were the people at home,
And the many children called out.
"Beware the Campbells Soup, my son!
The many flavors, the tongue will catch!
Beware the Chunky Soup, and shun
The Progresso soupy rush!"
He took his soup spoon in hand:
Long time the soupy food he sought--
So rested he by the stove to see,
But the soup he found was naught.
And, as in hungry thought he stood,
The Campbells soup, with rice and grain,
Came rolling through the kitchen door,
And sloshing as it came!
One, two! One, two! And into and out
The soup spoon went splashy-splosh!
He left it empty, and with its can
He went satisfiedly back.
"And hast thou eaten the Campbells Soup?
Come to my arm, my beamish boy!
O Soupy day! Hurrah! Hurray!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas Brothy, and the garlic cloves
Did boil and bubble in the pot:
All hungry were the people at home,
And the many children called out.
