• look at an interactive study of the poem here.
• Create an artistic representation of the poem. ( 20 points, due May 18th)

The Assignment:

After reading Poe's three stories, examine how they are representative pieces of Dark Romanticism. Use the stories as a primary resource and commentary from others as secondary sources.

Draw upon Poe's tragic life (and mysterious death), the Gothic writing style of the time, and the literary criticism of American transcendentalism as you compose your essay.
