I use technology often to motivate scholars to study vocabulary.

1. The most useful assignment that helps them learn the words in all contexts is using the CE-Vocab Wiki
2. The next best thing is a study guide for vocab at Quizlet. I love this website. It is one of the best quiz makers on the Internet and comes with flashcards, study guides and games.
3. I like to use studyshack.com also. I give scholars bonus points if they can unscramble a word of the day. Here's how to embed it onto your website.
4. I have also used many of the comic strip generators online. Here are some of the best:
