INTRODUCTION

Help!!  A company called Limiting Factor is trying to close down one of the National Parks found in the United States to in order to build houses.  Your team of scientists has been hired by Habitat Incorporated to help promote visitation to one of the many national parks found in the United States.  If you can promote visitation to the park, Limiting Factor will have no choice but to look elsewhere for land to build on.  Ms. Niche, head of Habitat Incorporated is looking to collect information on parks and to evaluate your report on the park you select.

THE TASK

Your group will be expected to complete the following:

THE PROCESS
1.  First you will need to select roles in your group.  One person will be acting as a meteorologist, one person will be acting as a botanist and the third person will be acting as a zoologist.  Choose the role that is interesting to you.....you will be learning a lot about your chosen field!

2.  Select a National Park to research.  Use the links located in the Resource section below.

3.  Show the name of your National Park to Ms. Niche.  Teams of scientists are needed at many parks to prevent Limiting Factor from closing any down.  Park approval will be granted on a first come, first served basis.

4.  Research your park.  Each scientist will focus his or her research on specific aspects of the park.

The role of the meteorologist is to:

The role of the botanist is to: The role of the zoologist is to: 5.  Meet with your team to design a brochure about your park.  It should include written information about the park, a graph or graphs of climate data, photos or images of the park, information about the plant and animal life, and a detailed food web.
